After receiving his undergraduate from the University of Colorado he worked at the Boulder County District Attorney’s office as director of the Juvenile Diversion program. He then went on to Gonzaga school of law on a Thomas Moore scholarship and graduated with cum laude honors.
James returned to Boulder and became Chief Deputy District Attorney in less than a year. During this time he oversaw operation of the entire Juvenile Unit. Duties include directing the prosecution of approximately 1000 juvenile delinquency cases a year, supervising Deputy District Attorneys, Legal Assistants, Victim Advocates, and program staff, acting as District Attorney representative publicly and with professional agencies, developing and overseeing the operation of juvenile justice programs, coordinating partnership agencies, developing plea standards, and carrying a juvenile caseload.
His vast experience in this area is a significant benefit for clients as he is well versed in the procedures and tactics of the prosecution.
